RUBBISH-FREE LUNCHES

Try for 5! Vegetable Challenge and Rubbish-free Lunches @DBCPS!

3a

Dallas Brooks Community Primary School participated in Nutrition Week Australia, October 2016.
All grades competed for the Try for 5! Challenge, tallying the vegetables they ate for snack and lunch each day. Students made an outstanding effort for the week, and our whole school tally reached over 2000, with the winning class totalling 233 vegetables!
During this week, we also had a rubbish-free day. Students were encouraged to bring rubbish-free lunches, using only reusable containers and without plastic wrappers. We were lucky to be graced with a beautiful, sunny day so that the students could enjoy a picnic outside with their healthy and sustainably packed food.
This was the first of many rubbish-free days at Dallas Brooks Community Primary School. We look forward to enjoying more days like this in the future, with a view to being rubbish-free everyday.
